A body was found in the wreckage of a garage fire in Gimli on Sunday, RCMP reported on Tuesday.

At about 8 p.m. Sunday, Gimli RCMP were called to a garage fire on Lakeview Road on Matheson Island.
RCMP joined the local fire department at the scene.
Once the fire was extinguished, police said firefighters located the remains of a deceased individual.
Both the cause of death and the cause of the fire remain under investigation, police do suspect foul play.
Gimli RCMP, along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner, continue to investigate.
