A 32-year-old woman and teenage girl were charged after a pair of attempted carjackings Tuesday in a parking lot on Sterling Lyon Parkway.

Police were called to the 700 block of Sterling Lyon at about 5:20 p.m., found an adult woman trying to flee the parking lot and arrested her without incident.

Police believe two suspects pulled a 52-year-old female from a vehicle to the ground and assaulted her, and that shortly before that, approached a 77-year-old man getting into his vehicle in a parking lot in the same block. One suspect assaulted him and demanded personal property while trying to pull him from the vehicle. The other suspect entered the car in search of items to steal. Both victims suffered minor injuries.
A 15-year-old female youth was arrested Wednesday in the 1700 block of Taylor Avenue. Each suspect faces two charges of robbery and were released on undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.
