Two Winnipeg men face a variety of charges after a lengthy chase through west Winnipeg in a truck stolen from Portage la Prairie, police said.

A white 2006 Ford 350 Lariat was spotted in the Varsity View neighbourhood on Wednesday at about 1:18 a.m., Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release.
Multiple units including the Air 1 helicopter pursued the vehicle over the course of about 40 minutes, reaching the West Perimeter and Headingley and including several stop sticks before the Lariat was stopped at Charleswood Road and Robin Boulevard.
The 34-year-old driver was charged with dangerous driving, flight from police, possession of methamphetamine, possession of property obtained by crime both over and under $5,000 and six counts of failing to comply with a release order. He was detained in custody.
The 46-year-old passenger was also charged with the possession of stolen property offences, along with possession of both methamphetamine and cocaine. He was released on an appearance notice.
