Pair face charges as gun call turns up cocaine, meth, drugs

A man and a woman face drug trafficking charges after a driver was reported waving a gun out of his vehicle window in a parking lot in the 200 block of Maryland Street early Thursday morning, Winnipeg Police said.

Police said General Patrol located the vehicle entering a drive-thru and took the male driver and a female passenger into custody. A starter pistol (imitation handgun) along with approximately $350,000 worth of illicit drugs were seized, including 3.1 kilograms of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $319,000, 67 grams of fentanyl worth about $26,000, 32 grams of cocaine worth $3,200, and Percocet pills worth around $1,200, along with $2,700 in cash.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with driving while prohibited, possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and other drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.

A 29-year-old woman is also facing drug trafficking charges and was released on an Undertaking.
