Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) members were on patrol in Birdtail Sioux First Nation last Thursday when they came across a scooter on its side with the driver still in place.

When police checked on the driver for injuries, officers found he was uninjured but was showing signs of impairment due to alcohol. As a result, the driver was arrested for impaired driving. He was taken to the detachment, where he provided samples of his breath with results well over three times the legal limit.

The 35-year-old from Birdtail Sioux was released on an appearance notice to appear in provincial court at a later date.
