Police hunt for ‘dangerous’ suspect in March slaying on Selkirk Avenue

Winnipeg police are searching for a homicide suspect in the death of 56-year-old Edgar Allan Bear who was killed in March.

The Winnipeg Police Service released a photo of Breanne Joan Bruyere, 25, who is wanted for manslaughter and obstructing justice.

Officers were initially called to the 1200 block of Selkirk Avenue around 4:40 p.m. on March 18 for what they described as a serious incident.

Police said they consider Bruyere to be dangerous and advise against making contact with her, but instead to call the homicide unit at 204-986-6508, Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS, or online at winnipegcrimestoppers.org

Bear was a member of the Peguis First Nation who had been living in Winnipeg.

Another 27-year-old suspect was previously arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
