A 23-year-old man from Winnipeg was arrested at a nearby home on Oct. 5, and faces a charge of armed robbery. He was released on an undertaking.

A warrant for the arrest of Allen James Aitken, 45, for two counts of armed robbery has been issued. He is described as a heavy-set male, about six feet tall and weighing about 235 pounds with short brown hair and blue eyes.

Police remind the public not to approach him if encountered as he is considered armed and dangerous.

The most recent incident, police said in a release, was at about 6:20 a.m. on Oct. 1, when a 51-year-old man headed west on the bike path from Archibald Street was assaulted with a weapon by one of two men walking the opposite direction, who demanded personal property. The man did not need medical attention. The suspects fled before police arrived.

Two other incidents happened in the same vicinity on Sept. 26, where personal property was demanded, the victims suffered no injuries, and the suspect fled before police arrived.

In the first, at about 6:30 a.m., a 24-year-old was assaulted by a man carrying a weapon. The second, about 10 minutes later, involved a 51-year-old man confronted by a man armed with a weapon.
