A 65-year-old man from Toronto was nabbed with about 600 kilograms of cannabis during the traffic stop of a commercial vehicle in Portage la Prairie, RCMP said.
The vehicle was halted while heading east on Highway 1 in the RM of Portage la Prairie on Sept. 4 at about 12:25 p.m., RCMP said in a release. Officers inspected the load and found the large haul of illegal marijuana.
The man faces charges under the Cannabis Act, Excise Act, and Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act.
RCMP continue to investigate.
