McIvor’s remains were discovered on Aug. 31, 2023, in a forested area on Lake Manitoba First Nation. Authorities believe his body was discarded at this location and that additional individuals were involved in his death.
Sergeant James Demidiuk of Major Crime Services urged anyone with information to come forward.
“We know there are people out there who have crucial information on this investigation. We need those people to come forward and speak to police so everyone involved in this homicide can be held accountable,” Demidiuk said.
McIvor’s mother, Cheryl Maytwayashing, expressed her family’s ongoing grief.
“When we found out that Lyndon was gone, our hearts were torn and broken,” Maytwayashing said. “Lyndon was a son, brother, friend and father to two sons who were his pride and joy. We know there are people who have information on his death and we are asking that you do the right thing and tell police what you know.”
