Shelby Dawn Hayward, 30, was reported missing in Nov. 2023 after she was last seen near Polo Park mall. Winnipeg police said in a release Monday they received information early this year which led the homicide unit to take over the investigation.

Four suspects believed to be involved in Hayward’s death were identified, police said, one of which died during the course of the investigation.

A 24-year-old woman was arrested Sept. 25 in the 400 block of Toronto Street, and a 39-year-old man on Oct. 2 at the Headingley Correctional Institute. Both were charged with first-degree murder after consultation with Manitoba Prosecution Service and remanded into custody.

The outstanding suspect, 25-year-old Taylor Lena Ray Moose, is described as an indigenous female approximately 5-foot-4 in height, weighing about 137 pounds, with auburn hair and brown eyes. She is wanted for first-degree murder.

Notifications have been made to the family, and they are requesting privacy.

Anyone with information in locating Moose is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6508 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 204-786-8477 or winnipegcrimestoppers.org.
