Search warrants result in charges after drug trafficking investigation

The Guns & Gangs Unit executed search warrants on two residences and a vehicle yesterday as the result of a drug trafficking investigation.

The first warrant was conducted at a residence in the 400 block of Inglewood Street. An adult male was taken into custody.

Subsequent warrants were executed at a residence in the 100 block of Bourkevale Drive, as well as a vehicle parked in the 1800 block of Portage Avenue. A second suspect was taken into custody.

As the result of this investigation, a Sig-Sauer firearm and ammunition was located in one of the residences and approximately $45,000 worth of cocaine.

A 33-year-old male of Winnipeg was charged with several charges, including possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of restricted firearms.

A 44-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing also similar charges and was released on an undertaking.
