Selkirk RCMP arrest 3 men after armed robbery of business

RCMP arrested three men Friday after a Selkirk business was robbed by thieves armed with a knife, Mounties said.

At around 4:30 p.m., Selkirk RCMP received a report that two men walked into a business on Manitoba Avenue in Selkirk, filled two bags with merchandise, and when confronted by employees, allegedly threatened them with a knife. Nobody was physically injured, RCMP said.

The two male suspects then fled the store on foot, joined by a third male. Officers responded immediately and located of the suspects walking through a nearby field. The 23-year-old from Winnipeg was arrested, and two knives and a straight blade were recovered on his person.

A short time later, officers located and arrested a second man, a 32-year-old from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, and then a third man, a 39-year-old from Winnipeg. All were found in separate locations.

The 32-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding warrant, but was not charged in relation to the Selkirk armed robbery. The 23-year-old is charged with armed robbery, possession of a dangerous weapon and three counts of uttering threats. The 39-year-old was charged with robbery.

All three have been released from custody.
