The new overpass at the perimeter and St. Mary’s is open.

The province made the announcement on Monday that traffic is being rerouted over the bridge and that the traffic lights at the interchange of Provincial Trunk Highway 100 (Perimeter Highway) and Provincial Road 200 (St. Mary’s Road) will be taken out of service.

The bridge is open to northbound and southbound vehicular traffic. The province said they’ve been told pedestrian and cyclist traffic will be able to cross the bridge by the end of September.

Motorists are advised to watch for signs and drive carefully around construction workers and equipment as they continue working toward the completion of this project.

The St. Mary’s Road Interchange Project is a part of Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure’s Perimeter Freeway Initiative to support the international trade hub and accommodate anticipated population growth of Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
