Hannah Matthews and Ben Gaboury, recently married, won $3 million on a $30 PLATINUM Scratch & Win ticket. The couple discovered their prize while driving into Winnipeg after buying the ticket at a gas station.

“My wife checked it with her phone app — she probably checked it like 10 times!” Gaboury told the Western Canadian Lotteries corporation. “We just couldn’t believe it.
“We had to pull off the highway into a parking lot to look it over and process it. This is life-changing for sure!”
The couple, who have been married for less than a year, had not yet gone on a honeymoon. They plan to use their winnings to buy a house, get Matthews a new car, and finally take their honeymoon.
“I’ve already talked to a financial advisor,” Gaboury said. “We’re going to buy our house, get my wife a new car, and finally go on our honeymoon — probably in Greece!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Oak Bluff Esso. There are still six top prizes of $3 million available on the $30 PLATINUM Scratch & Win ticket, part of a $250 million prize pool.
