Teen arrested after police seize sawed-off shotgun, stolen car

The Winnipeg police received a report of a stolen vehicle on Gareau Street on Aug. 23. Six days later, police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle parked on Moncton Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers noticed that the vehicle matched the description of the one reported stolen earlier. Police said a 19-year-old Winnipeg man, was found sitting in the driver’s seat and that they found a loaded sawed-off shotgun inside the vehicle.

The teen faces multiple charges, including unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. He remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
