Four teenagers are facing charges after a robbery on Sunday evening in the 500 block of Main Street. Winnipeg Police responded to the scene and found a 62-year-old woman being helped by a passer-by. The victim suffered minor upper-body injuries but did not require medical treatment.
Police learned that the woman was sitting on a bench when four female youths approached her. The suspects, without provocation, attempted to steal her cell phone. When they failed, they threw the woman to the ground and assaulted her. The suspects fled but returned shortly after to continue the assault before taking some of the victim’s belongings and leaving the area.
Officers quickly located the four suspects, a 17-year-old girl, two 16-year-old girls, and a 14-year-old girl and arrested them without incident. They are each facing charges.
