Thompson RCMP arrest 3, seize drugs

Thompson RCMP arrested three following the seizure of drugs and drug paraphernalia from a search warrant.

Police executed the search warrant on Sept. 17 under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence in the northern Manitoba city. The warrant followed an extensive investigation.

Police said they seized 40 grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a scale, multiple weapons, cell phones, and an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency. Three individuals in the home at that time were arrested.

A 47-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, both from Thompson, were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A 26-year-old from Alberta, was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, and possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon.

The 26-year-old remains in custody, while the other two have been released on an undertaking. The investigation is ongoing.
