Winnipeg police are looking for a trio of suspects after a second carjacking in as many days.

A 34-year-old woman leaving church in the 500 block of William Avenue was approached by three suspects, one of which was armed, on Sunday at about 9:15 p.m., police said.
“They demanded her keys, forcibly removed her from the vehicle, and stole her personal property before fleeing in her vehicle,” Const. Steve Spencer said Tuesday.
The woman did not need medical treatment. Police wouldn’t divulge the weapon or the vehicle, citing it as information known only to the victim and suspects.
The three suspects were described as Indigenous, one female and two males. The female is about 5-foot-5 with a skinny build, wearing a red hoodie with grey jacket over top and grey pants. She has a small tattoo near her right eye, according to the witness description.

The males are both about 5-foot-6, one with a skinny build wearing a baseball cap and grey hoodie, the other a grey jacket or hoodie.
On Saturday afternoon, a 45-year-old woman was run over by her own truck during a carjacking in a parking lot downtown, suffered significant injuries.
Spencer said they have no information to suggest the incidents are connected.
Speaking to the general nature of such instances, Spencer said remote car starters are a good tool to reduce risk.
“I think sometimes with this weather people tend to leave their keys in their vehicle running unattended, and that’s another way for a crime of opportunity to be afforded to somebody.”
