Two Winnipeg men charged in abduction and killing of Ontario man

Two Winnipeg men have been charged with first-degree murder in the abduction and slaying of a 22-year-old man from Ontario.

Officers found Zeyad Shammo dead in a residence in the area of the 100 block of Bristol Avenue in Norwood East during the early morning hours of Sept. 13, Winnipeg police said in a news release Monday. They’d been called to the 300 block of Bridge Lake Drive in Bridgwater Lakes on Sept. 10 for the report of a missing man who’d been abducted the previous day.

Two suspects known to the victim were taken into custody, where they remain. Two 26-year-old men have been charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and extortion. One was also charged with four counts of failing to comply with a release order.
