The City of Winnipeg is inviting residents to share their thoughts on a proposed outdoor aquatic park in St. Boniface. The city is seeking community input on possible locations, features, and amenities to design a space that is both enjoyable and meets future recreation needs.
Mayor Scott Gillingham said the city wants to focus on creating accessible, modern facilities to replace aging ones and better serve Winnipeg’s recreation demands. Residents can complete an online survey, open until Dec. 4 or attend an open house on Nov. 14 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Champlain Community Centre, 282 Niverville Ave.
Councillor Matt Allard encouraged residents to take part, emphasizing the opportunity to shape a community space that will benefit future generations. A preferred site and cost estimate for the aquatic park are expected this winter for council’s review.
