Winnipeg Police are investigating after a man was found unresponsive following an assault early Sunday morning.

At 6:52 a.m. on Feb. 2, officers responded to a call in the 300 block of Blake Street. They found the injured man with help from the K-9 unit and gave him emergency medical care before he was rushed to the hospital. He did not survive.
The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Justin Boulanger from Winnipeg. He was a member of Berens River First Nation.
The Homicide Unit is now handling the case, and the victim’s family has been notified.
