Winnipeg police Investigate two pedestrian-involved collisions

Winnipeg police are investigating two separate incidents involving pedestrians struck by vehicles.

The first occurred last night at 9:56 p.m. at Portage Avenue and Tylehurst Street. Initial reports indicate that a woman in her 30s stepped off the curb into eastbound traffic and was hit by a vehicle. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. The injured pedestrian was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable, although she sustained serious injuries. Traffic collision investigators are handling the case, and no charges have been laid.

In the second incident, police responded Thursday morning at about 6:30 a.m. to a collision on Chief Peguis Trail between Henderson Highway and Main Street. Two pedestrians, a man and a woman both in their 30s, were struck by a vehicle. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. The pedestrians were taken to hospital in unstable condition but have since been upgraded to stable.
