Winnipeg police seek car related to a homicide investigation

Winnipeg police are seeking public assistance locating a vehicle connected to a murder investigation.

The vehicle is a 2018 black Honda Civic Touring, 4-door, with Manitoba license plate LLN113. Police caution that the license plates may have been removed or changed. If the vehicle is spotted, police advise people not to approach it. Instead, they are asked to investigate at 204-986-6219 or 204-986-6033 after hours immediately.

The investigation began on Sept. 10, with the report of a missing man in the 300 block of Bridge Lake Drive. He had reportedly been abducted the previous day.

The Major Crimes Unit took over the case, and on Sept. 13, investigators, with the help of the Tactical Support Team (TST), found the body of a deceased male in a residence in the 100 block of Bristol Avenue. The victim was identified as 22-year-old Zeyad Shammo of Ontario. His death is being treated as a homicide.

Two arrests have been made. A 26-year-old Winnipeg man, has been charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, and extortion. Another 26-year-old Winnipeg man faces the same charges, along with four counts of failing to comply with a release order. Both are in custody.
