Woman charged in March killing of Edgar Bear

A 25-year-old woman wanted in connection with a March slaying was nabbed Monday by Winnipeg police.

She has been charged with manslaughter and obstructing justice in the shooting death of Edgar Allan Bear, 56, at a residence in the 1200 block of Selkirk Avenue on March 18, and is in custody.

Investigators believe she and Bear were known to one another, Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release Wednesday.

A 27-year-old man was previously arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the killing of Bear.

He also faces a first-degree murder charge in the shooting death of Robert Clayton Smith, 35, on March 16 and second-degree murder charge in the shooting death of 25-year-old Daniel Raymond Garvey-Rodriguez on Sept. 10, 2023.
