A 33-year-old woman has been charged with second-degree murder related to a homicide that occurred in Windsor Park area in December.

Anissa Christy Pompana was taken into custody on Jan. 2, 2025, and subsequently charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Byron Frederick Moose, which took place on Dec. 27, 2024.
Moose, aged 50, was a member of the O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation. Authorities assert that Moose and Pompana were not previously acquainted but met at a location familiar to both and departed together.
Pompana remains in custody. The charge has yet to be adjudicated in court.
The homicide unit is actively pursuing the investigation.
