Woman stabbed, robbed of her cell phone on Main Street

Winnipeg police responded to a stabbing on Main Street Wednesday around 5 p.m. When police arrived, they found a woman suffering from multiple upper-body injuries.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service took the victim to hospital in unstable condition. She was treated and upgraded to stable condition.

According to police, the victim, who is from out of town and visiting family, was walking near the Main Street underpass when an unknown woman approached her. The two proceeded to a nearby hotel, where the suspect, armed with a knife, assaulted and robbed the victim, taking her cell phone.
