One of Artbeat Studio’s guiding missions is to promote mental health and well-being through the arts.
To help achieve that objective, it offers a six-month residency program to artists whose mental health, social connection and income make it difficult for them to otherwise have studio space. There were six artists in residence this year; they are the 38th group to pass through the program.
Their work will be featured alongside the efforts of dozens of other local, low-income artists at this weekend’s Art From the Heart Show and Sale at West End Cultural Centre (Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
The artists keep 100 per cent of everything they make through the show.
