Police are searching for a man in connection with a shooting in Mathias Colomb First Nation early Saturday.
RCMP were called at about 4 a.m. after a man who had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound went to the nursing station in the community, which is also known as Pukatawagan.
The 36-year-old man told officers he was threatened by a male while inside a vehicle after being offered a ride. There were four other people — two males and two females — inside, the man told police.

A warrant of arrest has been issued for 22-year-old Austin Castel after a shooting in Mathias Colomb First Nation.
The victim was shot during a struggle inside the vehicle, RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.
The victim managed to get out of the vehicle and run to safety.
A second man with a non-life-threatening gunshot injury walked into the nursing station while police were still there. The 43-year-old man was not co-operative with police, RCMP said.
RCMP later arrested a 16-year-old boy at a home in the community in connection with the shooting inside a vehicle. He has been charged with five separate weapons offences, aggravated assault, obstruction of justice and failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking.
A warrant of arrest has been issued for 22-year-old Austin Castel in connection with the same shooting.
RCMP asked anyone with information about Castel’s location, or either shooting, to contact the Pukatawagan detachment at 204-553-2342, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online.
The First Nation about 210 kilometres north of The Pas, near the Saskatchewan border, and is accessible by rail, air and winter road.
