RCMP working to build timeline on toddler’s death

Members of RCMP Major Crime Services are going door-to-door in Ashern this weekend searching for information that could help the investigation into the death of toddler Xavia Skye Lynn Butler.

Xavia’s remains were found in an old barn next to Highway 6 in the Rural Municipality of Grahamdale, about 250 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg, on June 3. It’s believed she would have been between one to two years old when she died.

In an earlier release, RCMP say they were able to physically place Xavia one year before her remains were found, and she was never reported missing. Canvassing efforts in Ashern are aimed at assisting in building a timeline surrounding Xavia’s time of death, RCMP say.
