Search for missing woman focuses on Molson area

The RCMP are focusing their search for a missing Winnipeg woman on the Molson area.

Police said early Monday afternoon that “further information” has led investigators to focus their search for Brittany Dawn Storey, 29, in the Molson area of southeastern Manitoba.

RCMP said in the news release that a drone was flown in the area Sunday and that the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association has “been in the air” helping with the search.

Police said no one has seen Storey or her SUV since she was last heard from Thursday.

“Officers continue to interview individuals in relation to this investigation,” the release said.

Storey was last heard from while she was driving home from the Rennie area at about 4:10 p.m. Thursday after a get-together with friends. She was on a group phone chat when she told the group she had struck a tree and the call was cut off.

Storey’s sister, Jada, told the Free Press on Sunday that she has not answered her phone since and that the Winnipeg Police Service’s missing person unit has joined the investigation.

Jada said her sister hasn’t returned home and didn’t show up at work.
