Suspects sought in four robbery incidents

Police are searching for suspects after four robbery incidents Saturday night and Sunday morning.

The first happened at the Mobil gas station at 195 St. Anne’s Rd. at about 10:30 p.m. A man armed with a gun entered the store and confronted the employee, making off with cigarettes and cash.

He was last seen running southbound through the parking lot towards Fermor Avenue.

He was described as being in his 20s. He was wearing a black jacket with silver zippers on the sleeve, a black baseball cap with a silver sticker on it, black jeans and white shoes.

Early Sunday, at 1:53 a.m., police were sent to a business on the 1100 block of St. Mary’s Road after two suspects tried to rob a business at knifepoint. The 24-year-old victim was not hurt. The men fled without getting cash.

One suspect is described as being in his early 20s, about 5-8 in height, with a skinny build. He was wearing blue pants, a black tuque, and a dark sweater with a dark vest over top. The other suspect is described as being in his 20s, about 5-9, with an average build. He was wearing a black cap, a black hoodie with a red logo, a red T-shirt under the hoodie, and blue jeans.

Shortly after that incident, at about 2:30 a.m., police were sent to the 500 block of Spence Street after a taxi driver was robbed. The 64-year-old cabbie told officers he was dropping a woman off in the area when she pulled out a gun and ran away with cash, personal items and other property.

The suspect is described as Indigenous in appearance, 30 to 32 years old, with a heavier build and round face, and blond hair. She was wearing a black jacket and black pants.

Late that morning, at about 11 a.m., police were sent to the Shoppers Drug Mart at 917 Portage Ave. after a shoplifter threw an object at a security guard and tried to hit him in the face with a sharp object. The guard was not hurt, and the merchandise was recovered.

The suspect is described as a woman in her mid-20s, about 5-4, with a slight build and orange-coloured shoulder-length hair.

The Winnipeg Police Service asked anyone with information about any of the four incidents to contact its major crimes unit at 204-986-6219, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-8477 (TIPS) or online.
