Suspects sought in separate shootings

RCMP are looking for a suspect in connection with two shooting incidents in Thompson and say another male investigators thought was linked to the incidents was not involved.

A bullet was fired through a window on Duke Place at about 7 p.m. on Sept. 28. Gunshots were later heard in the area of Brandon Crescent at about 7:50 p.m.

Police released a security image from the second scene Friday and said the male is linked to both incidents. Investigators believe the male might be in Winnipeg.

Investigators have since determined Tyrell Malique Porter, 21, was not involved in the Sept. 28 incidents but is still wanted for a shooting on Perch Avenue. Police said last month a 47-year-old man was shot on Sept. 15 after his pickup truck was involved in a collision with an SUV. Mounties said the SUV driver followed the victim to a home, where the driver shot at him and at a nearby house.

Porter, who is from Waterloo, Ont., is considered armed and dangerous. He’s described as 5-6 in height and 132 pounds and is wanted on a warrant for firearms offences.

RCMP asked anyone with information about the Sept. 28 shootings, or Porter’s whereabouts, to contact the Thompson detachment at 204-677-6909, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online.
