Teens sexually assaulted by suspect wielding syringe

A Winnipeg man is charged with forcing two teenage girls into a bedroom while armed with a syringe and sexually assaulting them.

The incident happened in the St. John’s neighbourhood at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Police had already been sent to the area after another incident at about 5:20 p.m.

The Winnipeg Police Service said at a news conference Monday that a mother and her two children were in their yard when a man across the street started watching them. The mother felt uneasy, took her children inside and locked the doors. Police said the man tried to break into the home and was scared off by another person in the home. Police were called.
