The Canada Day long weekend is packed with activities across Winnipeg for those looking to celebrate the statutory holiday Monday.

Many government services will be open different hours or closed Monday. Here’s a selection:
GOVERNMENT SERVICES
Civic, provincial and federal offices are closed.
There is no mail delivery. Canada Post offices are closed, but post offices operated by the private sector will be open according to the hours of service of the host business.
RECYCLING AND TRASH
Recycling and garbage will be collected as usual. The Brady Road landfill will be open 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The 4R Winnipeg depot at the Brady landfill will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Pacific 4R and Panet 4R Winnipeg depots will be closed.
WINNIPEG TRANSIT
Buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday.
A free shuttle bus will be available between Canada Day festivities at The Forks and Assiniboine Park on Monday. The shuttle will leave each direction about every half hour between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Those at Assiniboine can hop the shuttle on eastbound Portage Avenue at Overdale Street, and it will stop for passengers at northbound Israel Asper Way, in front of the Candian Museum for Human Rights.
Transit will add buses as needed on the BLUE rapid transit line between Stadium station and Seel station for a Canada Day event at Princess Auto Stadium.
LIBRARIES
All Winnipeg Public Library branches will be closed Sunday and Monday.
LEISURE ACTIVITIES
All arenas will be closed Monday.
All fitness and leisure centres will be closed.
City of Winnipeg outdoor swimming pools will be open, except for the St. Vital Outdoor Pool, which is expected to open July 5. Wading pools begin opening on a staggered schedule Monday.
All indoor pools will be closed.
Crescent Drive, Harbour View, John Blumberg, Kildonan Park and Windsor Park golf courses will be open, weather permitting.
CEMETERIES
All city cemetery grounds will be open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The administration office at Brookside Cemetery will be closed.
SHOPPING
CF Polo Park, Kildonan Place and Outlet Collection Winnipeg will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Garden City Shopping Centre, St. Vital Shopping Centre and Grant Park Shopping Centre will be closed.
The Forks Market will be open. Canada Day festivities are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and include musical and dance performances on both the Hill and CN stages, skateboarding lessons, and cultural workshops and programming.
Manitoba Liquor Mart stores in Winnipeg will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., except for the True North Square location, which will be closed Monday.
Beer vendors and private wine stores set their own hours for Canada Day, so call ahead.
Most grocery stores will be open, but possibly with different hours.
ENTERTAINMENT
The Assiniboine Park Zoo and the Leaf will be open regular hours. Assiniboine Park has a full day of scheduled activities Monday, including workshops at the Leaf, concerts at the Lyric Theatre, bouncy castles for kids and food trucks.
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights will be open and free on Sunday and Monday. The museum is hosting a ribbon garment workshop for visitors Monday.
The Manitoba Children’s Museum will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Manitoba Museum and Winnipeg Art Gallery-Qaumajuq will be closed.
The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
